MNMW Is now Blue Zones Project Approved

Markham Norton Mosteller Wright & Company, P.A. in Naples is now a Blue Zones Project approved worksite. MNMW joins more than 700 other organizations participating with Blue Zones Project – Southwest Florida, a community-by-community, well-being improvement initiative designed to support longer, better lives through sustainable changes to environment, policy, and social networks. Principles are based on lifestyles in Blue Zones® areas, which are pockets of the world where people live longer with less chronic disease and higher quality of life.

“Our team at MNMW is one large family, and we all care and support each other both professional and personally,” said Karen Mosteller, CPA, CHBC, Partner at MNMW. “Many of the guidelines to become a Blue Zones Project organization were already deeply ingrained in our culture and day-to-day operations. MNMW has always tried to help team members with a healthy lifestyle and a balance in their work and personal lives. It is encouraging to see so many companies building cultures that focus on the health and well-being of their team, which impacts our community in the end.”

One of the ways that MNMW earned Blue Zones Project Approval was through their corporate citizenship/corporate social responsibility programs. The firm is determined to play its part in transforming well-being in Southwest Florida – as a United Way Pacesetter organization and working with a myriad of philanthropic organizations in the community: volunteering, fund raising, and hosting donation and blood drives as part of its mission.

Brought to Southwest Florida by NCH Healthcare System, in collaboration with Sharecare®, Inc., Blue Zones Project is a vital part of Southwest Florida’s well-being improvement initiative that encourages changes in the community that lead to healthier options. About Blue Zones Project

Blue Zones Project® by Sharecare is a community-led well-being improvement initiative designed to make healthy choices easier through permanent changes to a city’s environment, policy, and social networks. Established in 2010, Blue Zones Project is based on research by Dan Buettner, a National Geographic Fellow and New York Times best-selling author who identified five cultures of the world—or blue zones —with the highest concentration of people living to 100 years or older. Blue Zones Project incorporates Buettner’s findings and works with cities to implement policies and programs that will move a community toward optimal health and well-being. Currently, 56 communities across North America have joined Blue Zones Project, impacting more than 3.8 million citizens. The population health solution includes two Health Districts in California; 15 cities in Iowa; Albert Lea, Minnesota; the city of Fort Worth, Texas; Corry, Pennsylvania; Brevard, North Carolina; the Walla Walla Valley in Washington; and communities in Southwest Florida, Hawaii, Illinois, Oklahoma, Oregon, and Wisconsin. Blue Zones Project is a partnership between Blue Zones, LLC, and Sharecare, Inc. For more information, visit bluezonesproject.com.
