(MNMW), has received the Not-for-Profit Certificate I from the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants (AICPA). With this certification, Bowersox has a deeper understanding of the accounting concepts, as well as the financial and fiduciary responsibilities, that apply to not-for-profit organizations and can assist in strategic planning for organizational success.
“Elisa has a passion for helping not-for-profit organizations,” said Karen Mosteller, CPA, CHBC, Partner at MNMW. “Her kind and genuine nature, combined with her skill and expertise, will no doubt be an asset to any organization she works with. We are very proud of her for earning this certification and opening up more opportunities for our clients.”

Professionals who earn the Not-for-Profit certification apply core concepts in not-for-profit financial reporting, auditing, governance, and tax compliance concepts. They recognize the U.S. GAAP reporting standards applicable to not-for-profits and identify exempt organizations’ basic state and federal filing requirements. Additionally, these professionals identify best practices in nonprofit board governance and the planning steps of a nonprofit audit engagement.
